Registered Dental Hygienist

 About the Role
We’re looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist who is compassionate, adaptable, and committed to making a difference in children’s lives. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety and is excited to travel with our mobile team to schools and community locations, bringing care to where it’s needed most.

We value diverse perspectives, ideas, and skills because they make us stronger and more effective. The right candidate will bring their unique strengths, work well in a team environment, and embrace our mission to expand access to dental care for vulnerable children.

As part of CDHS, you’ll enjoy a flexible weekday schedule (Fridays through Sundays off), competitive pay, and benefits based on the number of hours you work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive dental care, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants
  • Conduct oral health assessments and screenings
  • Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
  • Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants in delivering quality care
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and CDHS protocols at all times

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene
  • Current Minnesota Dental Hygiene License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Dental Assistant

About the Role
We’re looking for a Dental Assistant who is kind, hardworking, and flexible, with a heart for serving children and families. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, as you’ll have the opportunity to travel with our mobile team to schools and community sites to provide care where it’s needed most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during exams and procedures
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, parents, and school staff
  • Organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Perform dental instrument sterilization following safety protocols
  • Take and process digital radiographs
  • Accurately chart procedures and clinical notes in our electronic record management system
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and CDHS guidelines at all times

Requirements

Licensed Dental Assistant

  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program
  • Minnesota Board of Dentistry-approved Nitrous Oxide training
  • Current Minnesota LDA license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Commitment to ongoing continuing education as required by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry

Non-Licensed Dental Assistant

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Office Assistant

 About the Role
We’re looking for an Office Assistant who is friendly, reliable, and adaptable, with a heart for serving the community. You’ll be a key part of keeping our clinics running smoothly—whether you’re scheduling appointments, connecting with families and schools, or lending a hand at school-based clinics.

As part of CDHS, you’ll enjoy a flexible weekday schedule (Fridays through Sundays off), competitive pay, and meaningful work that makes a direct impact in the lives of children and families.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet and assist patients, families, and community partners
  • Answer and route phone calls
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Coordinate with translation services (phone and in person)
  • Communicate professionally with school staff, students, and parents
  • Assist in preparing for and supporting school-based dental clinics
  • Perform data entry, charting, and other administrative tasks
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and CDHS safety and confidentiality standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Flexible weekday availability
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to lift 40–50 pounds
  • Comfort working with diverse communities
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
